The Faculty of Arts at Macquarie has had a sustained and growing commitment to 3D imaging over many years. This has involved creating actual and virtual facilities to enable the use of 3D imaging accross our disciplines.
Broadly speaking, the facilities contain:
- Object based Scanning
- Fieldwork based scanning
- Compute resources
We have a physical imaging facility in GC26 (Building C or the Arts precinct) which now forms the Hub of this capability and we also house a set of equipment in our equipment store in room C111.
Some of the resources include:
- Artec structured light scanners (2xEva and 2xSpider) for small to large object scanning.
- Terrestrial laser scanning - utilising an Artec Ray for building and filed scale imaging
- A drone fleet based on DJI hardware for remote aerial photography
- A primarily Canon focused suite of cameras and lenses for a variety of photogrammetry purposes
- High end compute based on Windows and Nvidia hardware running Agisoft Metashape Pro and Reality Capture photogrammetry software
- Full studio lighting and turtable setups for tethered photogrammety
- Copy stands for photographing flat work based on Fuji medium format hardware.
